“Namaste” Wooden Wall Writing

Namaste means: The light within me salutes the light within you.

The “nama” part in the word Namaste means to bow and the “ste” part means you. So it can be interpreted as I bow to you.

The Namaste gesture is the recognition and respect of one soul by another. Taken as a whole, it means “I honor the place of love, truth, light and peace within you, and I bow to this sacredness within you.”

It is performed at the beginning and end of a yoga class. It is performed collectively by students with a sense of gratitude towards the instructor and what he or she will teach.

The instructor also sends his respects to the individuals he teaches and to his own master. Namaste prevents us from ignoring the fact that we are all one, which yoga tries to teach in a structural way.
