What is the Meaning of the Hand of Fatima (Hamsa)?

Although it is known as the Hand of Fatima , it is called the Hand of Hamsa in Arabic. Hamsa means five and shows the number of fingers on a hand. Hindus call it the Hand of Humsa, and Jews call it the Hand of Hamesh or the Hand of Miriam. It is especially valuable in North Africa.
